hey lj
so after about 3 months of use my imac hard drive failed. I have applecare so replacement isn't an issue but losing thousands of dollars in work IS. fuck me the wow starts now. some would say i deserve it for buying one that was (most likely) stolen. anyone know if they'll be able to retrieve files off of it (bit of a mac noob)?

capcom announces another new fighting game..that's cool at least. speed racer vs. ryu!

holy shit, that fucking sucks.
did you try removing the hd and putting it in the freezer? is anything spinning or moving or is it just plain dead?

you can do data recovery for a dead drive but it's very expensive.

i am so sorry and holy crap. i hate macs.

it will probably be expensive to try file recovery but i would say it's worth it.

p.s.:

at this price you can't NOT buy an external hard drive for backups. just don't work directly off of it.

i've got 3 backup drives...I guess i was drinking too much of that apple kool aid and didn't foresee a crash 3 months in.
